When my family travels one thing we love to do is eat at unique restaurants. My 3 boys are great eaters and I can always count on them to try new things while on vacation. But while on vacation we tend to indulge in foods we wouldn't normally eat at home. And vegetables are not on the top of the priority list!

Luckily I recently found a great product that will help add fiber to the kids' diet, at home and while on vacation - Pedia-Lax Fiber Gummies. These are little penguin shaped gummies that my kids seem to love! Three of the gummies adds 6 grams of fiber to the kids' daily diet. That's a lot of fiber when you take into account how much broccoli or leafy greens need to be eaten to consume the same amount!

The gummies are similar to the fruit snacks you find at the supermarket. But these are packed with great nutritional value. Plus they are sugar and gluten free! From now on Pedia-Lax Fiber Gummies will be on my packing list when we head to Disney World or anywhere else. It's one way I can be sure my kids digestive system stays healthy during vacation!

Thanks Pedia-Lax Fiber Gummies!

I will be traveling to Disney World August 22-28. This is very exciting as it will include many firsts for me - traveling alone with my 3 boys, staying at the All-Stars Movies Resort, eating at certain restaurants, and my very first LIVE trip report!

I am hoping to keep my readers, website visitors, Facebook fans, and friends up to date on what I am doing while at Disney World. Will you follow along? I'd love to hear what you think!

We are only a little over 100 days away from our trip and I can hardly wait!
Disney's Port Orleans Riverside is one of my personal favorite resorts. The southern charm is enough to keep me coming back for more after several stays here.

The best priced option for a family of 5, Riverside is one of Disney's Moderate Resorts. Located in the Downtown Disney area of Walt Disney World, this resort is made up of two sections - Magnolia Bend and Alligator Bayou. Both sections are themed beautifully, with great landscaping and pathways to all the different sections of the resort.

There are over 2000 rooms available at Riverside. The rooms are over 300 square feet in size and feature either two double beds or one king bed. The Alligator Bayou rooms have a small trundle bed that is perfect for a small child. Also featured in each room: a TV, armoire, ceiling fan, table and chairs, bathroom and separate vanity area with double sinks. Amenities include: shampoo and soap, hair dryer, refrigerator, and coffeemaker.

Port Orleans Riverside also has a total of 6 swimming pools. The largest one - Ol' Man Island - has a water slide and waterfall. The other 5 pools are considered "quiet" pools and are scattered around the resort.

In addition to the pools there's also a playground for younger children, the Medicine Show Arcade for video game lovers, and a great gift shop called Fulton's.

The eateries at the resort include a nice table service restaurant - Boatwright's. It serves breakfast and dinner and it is highly recommended to book an Advanced Dining Reservation to ensure you can get a table. The dinner menu includes Creole entrees such as Jambalaya, Voodoo Chicken, and Prime Rib. Desserts such as Pecan Pie and Apple Pie. There is also a specialty cocktail list!

The food court area is called Riverside Mill. This features several stations where you can order breakfast, lunch or dinner. Food items such as paninis, pizza, pasta, and more.

Riverside is a great getaway even without hitting the parks since it offers so many extras. There's fishing rentals, evening carriage rides, hot tubs, and a boat ride to Downtown Disney along the Sassagoula River, which runs through the middle of the resort. You can also take a 10 minute walk to Port Orleans French Quarter, Riverside's sister resort.

For your next Disney trip consider Port Orleans Riverside Resort. You will love it!
When my husband and I decided to give cruising a try I was a bit skeptical. The whole idea of a big ship with lots of people and no where to escape made me a little nervous. We booked a 3 night cruise on the Disney Wonder and I jumped into the planning stages to see what it was all about. I was excited and apprehensive at the same time.

After months of finding out all there was to know, we stepped onto the ship and all of my worries washed away. As soon as the cast member announced "Welcome aboard the Sykora family!" I was a mushy puddle. What was it about those five words that made me feel so warm and fuzzy inside? Walking into the atrium on the Wonder was simply awe inspiring. And at that moment I knew Disney Cruise Line would be an important part of my life from then on.

Since that first trip in March 2007 my family has cruised two more times on DCL. Our trip in February 2009 on the Disney Magic was my favorite. It was a 7 night Western and we couldn't have asked for better weather, better service or better company. The only thing I would change was how fast it flew by!

My kids (I have 3 boys) still talk about our trip that was almost a full year ago. We still refer to our wonderful servers - Vlado and Gerry. We remember the shows, the islands, the fireworks, and of course, the food. Escargot. Shrimp. Pastries. Pizzas. Mickey Ice Cream bars. Steak. Lobster. Plate after plate of delicious delicacies that my family indulged in hour after hour. Amazingly enough, we didn't pack on the pounds because we stayed so busy the entire week!

I think it's a natural instinct to keep coming back to something that you love. Since we've had such great experiences on our Disney cruises we will continue to cruise with Disney. There's nothing wrong with other cruise lines, but if someone asks why we choose Disney the answer is simple. We love it.

If you're teetering on the edge of making the decision to cruise, just do it. Whether it's Disney Cruise Line or Carnival or Royal Caribbean, give it a try. You may find that it's the best vacation you've ever had!

Being my first blog entry I thought I'd give you a brief explanation of what you can expect from this blog. This is where you can go to find my general thoughts on travel, random reviews on travel items, and up to date information about new and upcoming attractions, etc.

Will this blog be mainly about Disney destinations? Probably. Disney is what I know. And while I will from time to time mention other vacation places and cruise lines, I will focus on Disney.

With that said, please check back often for new entries! If you have a recommendation of what you want to see me blog about please leave me a note. Or if you have a comment about an entry, don't hesitate to let me know. I look forward to blogging and I await your feedback!

Happy travels and have a magical day!
