First Time (won't be the last!) visited Disney World in April 2011 with her husband and two young children. This was the first trip for all of them. But it won't be their last!
How far in advance did you start planning for your trip? What was the planning process like - stressful, simple, overwhelming? In what way was I able to assist you with the planning stage?
I have been planning for more than a year, but made reservations in October of last year. I did lots and lots of research and asked lots of friends. I met you in January (I think) and you so graciously took us in and helped us even more! :-) Not only did you save us a considerable amount of money you helped with the planning of our days. I realize now how lost we would have been if we would have went at it alone! I did not start getting stressed till closer to time but you helped ease my mind so so much!
How did you tell your family about the trip? Was it a surprise?
We have been talking about going for a while but when I finally made the reservations I told them that night. Being 5 and 3 years old, going in 6 months or 6 days really doesn't make a difference to them. Maybe next time I will come up with a great way to surprise them.
Which Disney Resort did you stay at? What did you think of the resort?
We stayed at Coronado Springs Resort. The resort was great, so pretty and very clean. The only complaint I have was after our check in they told us our room was ready. We wanted to go ahead and drop our things off so we headed over, unloaded all our things and went to the room. I put our key card in the door and it was locked from the inside. There was someone in there! I felt terrible. Luckily the people in the room were super nice. The front desk had made a mistake and got it taken care of fairly quick. Amanda also responded very quickly, I called her because I had no idea what to do. It was just a mistake and yes I would stay there again. The room was nice and very clean. The pools were super nice too!
What are your family's favorite Disney characters? Did you have interactions with them while on vacation?
For my son, he loves Toy Story. So getting to see them was great for him. We met Buzz on a rainy day at the Magic Kingdom. The line was very short, which was great for us too. We saw Woody and Jessie during the parade. He also got to see Darth Vader, he was super excited about that!
My daughter is obsessed with Disney Princesses and Minnie. We got to see both! The character meals were fabulous for meeting the characters. No lines and they came to you. Princess Aurora at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall was fantastic. She spent time with the kids and asked them questions, getting to know them. She talked to my son about Star Wars (he had a Star Wars shirt on) and she gave Audrey the biggest hug. It was definitely a heart warming moment.
What restaurants did you dine at?
We did all Character meals at night and they were the favorite part of the trip for me.
We went to:
Chef Mickey's- SO SO FUN!
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall- Food was fantastic and my daughter got to meet her favorite princesses
The Garden Grill- Great food, Chip and Dale are a lot of fun!
The Crystal Palace- beautiful restaurant and great food.
Quick Service-
Pizzafari
Backlot
Tortuga Tavern- YUMMY!!! I love chicken burritos!
ABC Commissary
And I got a Dole Whip float! It was AMAZING!!!! :-)
What was your family's favorite ride or attraction? And why?
I think as a family our favorite ride was Toy Story Mania! Jackson was most excited about this one, so all the hype before hand was very exciting. We also liked the Safari ride at Animal Kingdom too. Audrey loves animals, so this one was made for her.
What was the greatest advantage of booking your vacation with me as your travel agent?
First, you saved us a lot of money from our original booking price!
Then the itinerary! We did not go by it exactly, but pretty closely! On Wednesday we went back to Hollywood Studios to get something for Jackson and it was PACKED, I looked at my husband and said, "See Amanda knows what she is doing, she didn't tell us to come here today!"
Share one moment during your vacation that will always be a favorite memory.
Seeing my daughters eyes light up for her favorite princesses was probably the best moment for me. It was her favorite movies coming to life and you just can't put a price on that.
If you had a funny moment during your trip where you could not stopping laughing, please share.
At the end of the Buzz Lightyear ride, when it calculates your score, my family was comparing scores. Mine and Audrey's were terrible and my husbands was ok. Jackson's was 2 times my husbands, like over two hundred thousand points. Jackson starts saying, "I won, I won, I beat you" It was so funny to us. We got beat by a 5 year old! He thought it was hilarious!
What was one thing that really surprised you during your vacation? Maybe a ride that your family loved that you thought you wouldn't, or something special a Cast Member said or did.
Having never been I had no idea what to expect. But everywhere we went, whether it be into restaurant, or onto a ride, whatever, every cast member greeted Audrey by saying, "Hello Princess". She was in heaven, with all that attention. And also we celebrated Jackson's birthday while we were there. And they went to all lengths to make his week special. Every cast member greeted him by saying, "Happy Birthday Jackson". (He had a button/pin with Happy Birthday Jackson on it). It made the time there extra special for him!
Did you or anyone in your family have 'tears of joy' during your trip? Share the details.
Yes! Me! We stopped to watch the Celebrate a Dream come true show. Audrey was SO excited every-time a new character came out. She was one my shoulder so she could see. And she would drum on my head when the princesses came out and yell, "Look it's Snow White and LOOK it's Cinderella"! I knew then I had made a good choice of when to come. The moment was perfect!
Did you go through Disney withdrawals when you returned home? What was the best remedy?
Yes, it was so so much fun. I wish everyday could be vacation! So far I have been going through pictures and watching our videos. Time to start planning the next trip right?
Have you started planning your next Disney vacation? What will you do differently next time?
We haven't started planning just yet. Next time my parents want to go. I think they would love to see the kids there. And it would give hubby and I a chance to ride the "big kids" rides.

I don't really have a question, I just want to say thank you!! You took me in after I had already made reservations, saved us money and planned us a great vacation!! Thank you for taking my calls (and Audrey's too). We had a fabulous time and I owe it to you. I will definitely tell everyone I know to come to you. I cannot wait to plan our next vacation with you. Maybe a cruise next time?? :-)
